CSR |
Corporate Social Responsibility is defined as “achieving commercial success in ways that honor ethical values, respect people, communities & the natural environment.” We can also say that CSR means addressing the legal, ethical, commercial & other expectations society has for business, & making decisions that fairly balance the claims of all key stakeholders. In its simplest terms it is a moral check on: “what you do, how you do it”
CSR is viewed as a comprehensive set of policies, practices & programs that are integrated into business operations, supply chains, & decision-making processes throughout the company - wherever the company does business - & includes responsibility for current & past actions as well as future impacts. The issues that represent a company’s CSR focus vary by business, by size, by sector & even by geographic region. In its broadest categories, CSR typically includes issues related to: business ethics, community investment, environment, governance, human rights, marketplace & workplace.
Corporate social responsibility, if addressed comprehensively, can deliver the greatest benefits to a company & its stakeholders when integrated with business strategy & operations, which can assure your continued business development & success.
All companies need to consider the economic, social & environmental impact of their activities & they also need to give back to the communities within which they operate. The growing need to manage issues that affect their business reputation & to respond to the concerns of a range of different stakeholders is what corporate social responsibility is all about. |
