[Example: Suppose, temperature required for the process is 300 °C. Assume Temperature Controller has the error of –3°C because of un-calibration or wrong calibration. If your heater is (assume) consuming 0.5 KW power / hour to maintain 3°C higher, than your power consumption will be (0.5 KW X 8 Hrs X 365 Days =) 1460 unit excess during the year for 1 shift. If the cost of 1 Unit is Rs. 10.00, then Rs. 14600/- will be financial loss per shift because of the error of –3°C in one Temperature Controller.
Same way you can calculate excess power consumed by Compressor, Refrigerator Plant etc…because of wrong pressure indication.]
